- CPT code 99453: reimburses $19 for the education of device and knowledge. This is billed only once.
- CPT code 99454: reimburses for remote monitoring of physiologic parameters such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and blood glucose levels. This can be billed once every 30 days
- CPT code 99457: Reimburses for Remote physiologic monitoring treatment management services for initial 20-minute communication.
- CPT code 99458: reimburses for Remote physiologic monitoring treatment management services, for additional 20 minutes of clinical staff/physician/other qualified healthcare professional time in a calendar month requiring interactive communication with the patient/caregiver during the month.
Can providers also bill for RPM when they are providing Chronic Care Management (CCM)?
Yes. Providers can bill for RPM and CCM as they are different services. CCM has its own CPT Code 99490. Time spent on CCM and RPM must be separate and billed as separate encounters.
